420 million years of evolution, 50 years of decline

Shark Awareness Day on July 14th brings urgent attention to the fact that one-third of shark species are now threatened with extinction. With overfishing as the main cause, both illegal and unregulated. Sharks are targeted for their fins, meat, and liver oil, and are also frequently caught as bycatch. Their slow growth, late maturity, and low reproductive rates make it difficult for populations to recover from these pressures, while habitat loss, pollution, and climate change add to the crisis.

How Arias Tech Solutions is making a difference:

🔹Coastal Sentinel™ integrates radar, AIS data, and AI-driven vessel behavior analysis to detect and deter illegal fishing, helping to protect sharks before harm is done.

🔹We integrate a suite of sensors into our EMS Mini Buoy to deliver critical data on water quality and ecosystem health, supporting science-led shark conservation.

Sharks have survived many challenges in the past and now they need our help. By combining cutting-edge monitoring with conservation science, we're helping these magnificent creatures navigate current threats and build sustainable population recovery.

Supporting ocean guardians means becoming digital guardians ourselves.
